Trío Modus
Formed in 1997 by the soloists from the Orquesta Sinfónica de Radio Televisión Española (ORTVE), they have offered concerts regularly from their extensive repertory. Pieces from the classical and romantic periods, as well as compositions of contemporary composers, some dedicated to the Trío have been enjoyed by audiences throughout Spain. They have made several recordings for Televisión Española, Digital Satellite Channel, and Classical Radio.
Their pedagogical concerts bring classical music closer to audiences that normally do not have the opportunity to attend concerts. Taking into consideration the formation of the Trío: violin, viola y cello, they try to choose programs composed of themes where each instrument has the chance to take the protagonism and shine by itself as well as among the others. In some themes the protagonist instrument will make an extensive introduction, in others it will develop a solo part. The Trio Modus’ educational concerts take place like a normal concerts accompanied with commentaries or parts of a story before or after each piece. At the end of the concert the audience has an opportunity to ask questions about the instruments, the story, or the music.
