Paloma Berganza - French "chanson"

Paloma Berganza’s voice, trained by great masters and sculpted by the classics, broke into the Spanish music scene in 2003 with surprising vigor with “Avec le temps”, her first album. In an intimate recording with her Trio, this native of Madrid surprised (almost everybody!) with a marvellous collection of gems from the French chançon seen through the eyes of jazz and flavored with bossa nova. Press and public alike received enthusiastically this edition of “Avec le temps”; the charm of which seduced even the famous French “chanteur” Moustaki, who said that Paloma has made him “discover songs that I thought I knew perfectly”.

In 2004, again working with a “dream team” of Spanish jazz players - Paloma Berganza edited her CD “Boulevard Latino” (Latin Boulevard); in which she sings about “hope and longing” according to her own words. Now this young vocalist puts her eyes on well-known themes such as Moliendo Café and Corcovado. It is a true miracle the way she makes them resonate in our soul like the echoes of something new. Once again, we vibrate with Moustaki and his feeling of discovering something new in a place we thought was already excessively well-known.
